   Proposal Description:
   In the present study, we aim to utilize structural neuroimaging data, genetic information and PET imaging of AB and tau deposition to understand the influence of developmental disability diagnosis on AD pathology. Specifically, the goals of this study are to: (1) characterize the relationship between developmental disability diagnosis and AD phenotypic features (regional brain volume, AB/tau deposition, and memory performance) using cross-sectional data, (2) determine if a history of developmental disability predicts accelerated brain atrophy and cognitive decline in patients with AD using longitudinal data and (3) determine whether these associations are differentially influenced by APOE4 genotype. These findings will provide insight into the developmental origins of neurodegeneration and how early life exposures influence AD risk and pathology.
